TCB Blue Stars of the Week: Post All Star Edition

Or alternatively titled: The Carlos and Jake Show

We have quite a bit of stellar defense to get to this week. Since we did a first half review last week, I am including all games since the All Star break in this edition. As always, I am not going to include everything, so feel free to post anything you feel is worthy in the comments. I feel sorry for teams that wouldn't have to slim down their list of defensive gems like we do.

(Also, before you post it, the incredible Altuve play from last night is not in here since last night's game is included with next week's Blue Stars so you don't have to give me any grief...)

Jose Altuve Barehanded Grab

Altuve picks up a ball deflected by Scott Feldman and makes a great throw to keep Elvis Andrus off the bases early in the throwback game.

Jake Marisnick Dives to Save a Hit

Jake becomes Scott Kazmir's new best friend by robbing a hit by Omar Infante in the newly acquired pitcher's first start as an Astro.

Carlos Correa Makes a Diving Stop

Correa reaches behind him to stop a Xander Bogaerts grounder, and turn a base hit into a routine out at first base.

Correa Keeps Game Tied In Bottom Of The Ninth

Correa makes an awesome throw to send the game to extra innings. (I think I could make a spinoff and call it "Carlos Correa's Blue Stars".)

Colby Rasmus And His Cannon Arm

Kendrys Morales thought he was going to glide into third base. Rasmus took offense to that and nailed him with a great throw. Kudos also to Valbuena for a great tag.

Marisnick Dives To Save A Hit, Part Two

This game got out of hand quickly. It would have got even more out of hand-ier if not for Jake's catch to end the inning.

Luis Valbuena With A Smooth Backhand

This is not only on the list because it is a good play. It is on here because it made Pujols go back in shame to the bench.
