Astros option L.J. Hoes to Triple A to make room for Scott Kazmir

As part of trading only prospects for Scott Kazmir, the Astros need to make a roster move to get him on the 25-man roster. The Astros have sent down outfielder L.J. Hoes to Triple A Fresno to free up that roster stop.

The Astros most recently recalled Hoes on July 12, he appeared in six games during his most recent stretch with the team. He batted .286 with one run scored, one RBI and one walk.

Also part of Kazmir joining the rotation, Astros manager A.J. Hinch announced yesterday that Vincent Velasquez has been sent to the bullpen.
