Instead of just focusing on the best defensive plays of this past week (and since it was a short week), I thought it would be a good time to go back and take a look at the best plays of the season. With this team there are quite a few, and it was hard to narrow the list down. Every game seems to have its share of amazing plays.
If you would like to share some of your personal favorites I may not have listed here be sure to do it in the comments. Oh, and give us a vote in the poll. Eighty-something games are a lot to go through so I am sure I might have missed something. These are in chronological order for no other reason than I wanted them to be.
George Springer Ruins Martin's Day
This was the sign of things to come with the outfield defense this season. Springer goes back and saves Tony Sipp from giving up a walk-off grand slam. Sipp's reaction is worth the watch.

Jake Marisnick Climbs Tal's Hill
The days of seeing a play on the hill are numbered, so thankfully Jake gave us one to remember as we move into the post-hill era. Once again the pitcher's reaction is priceless. McHugh can't believe what he just saw.

Jose Altuve and the Backhanded Flip
Very smooth. So smooth it looked like it took Villar by surprise, and he had to gather himself to make the turn.

Marisnick Catches Pujols Not Paying Attention
From the same game as the previous play, Jake makes the catch in centerfield, and I can only assume Pujols thought there were already two outs. Jake completes the (humiliating) unassisted double play. Has to be the longest double play I have ever seen.

The Triple Play
This was the first triple play I had ever seen from the Astros. It couldn't have set up more perfectly. This play helped McCullers out of a jam in one of his early starts.

Marwin Gonzalez Spin-O-Rama
This is not the prettiest throw you will ever see, but it was effective. I don't even think Marwin could see first base when he let go of the ball.

Carlos Correa Climbs the Ladder
Correa makes a nifty little jump to rob a sure base hit. In fact it looks like the ball is past him when he pulls it in.
