2015 MLB Draft: Day Two Open Thread

1.37 CA - Cameron, Daz, Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (GA), OF (5/8/6)

2.4 - Thomas Eshelman, Cal State - Fullerton (CA), RHP (126/48/98)

3.4 - Riley Ferrell, TCU, RHP (59/36/45)

4.4 - Anthony Hermelyn, Oklahoma, C

5.4 - Trent Thornton, North Carolina, RHP

6.4 - Nestor Muriel, Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy (Puerto Rico), CF

7.4 - Michael Freeman, Oklahoma State, LHP

8.4 - Garrett Stubbs, USC (CA), C

9.4 - Zac Person, LSU, LHP

Day one was exciting.

Day two is less exciting because the names aren't as big and the money being tossed around is significantly less.

However, that doesn't make it any less important. This is where teams really make their money off the draft and really build organizations. Here are a few major leaguers that the Astros have drafted on Day Two.

Jack Shuck (2008-6th)

Enrique Hernandez (2009-6th)

Dallas Kuechel (2009-7th)

Austin Wates (2010-3rd)

Jake Buchanan (2010-8th)

Nick Tropeano (2011-5th)

Preston Tucker (2012-7th)

Now add in the prospects that so many of us love that have been drafted recently in those rounds.

Andrew Aplin, Brett Phillips, Tyler Heineman, Jason Martin, Jacob Nottingham, Austin Nicely, Tony Kemp, Conrad Gregor, Daniel Mengden, and J.D. Davis.

Of course there are more. I just can't name them all.

Point is that there are still significant pieces available for the taking.
