Day game. Minor league night games. Discuss the action!
Oh, and feel free to discuss the Super Regionals as there are likely some future Astros playing in at least one of them.
Fresno Grizzlies vs. Reno Aces
9:05 PM CST
Asher Wojciechowski takes the mound for his sixth appearance since being demoted. He's kept the ERA down but hasn't been dominant. With the fifth spot in Houston still being a question mark, Wojo needs to step it up to get another shot with the major league club.
Corpus Christi Hooks vs. Arkansas Travelers
7:05 PM CST
Brian Holmes gets the ball to try and stop the two game losing streak that the Hooks are in. The Hooks aren't tearing the cover off the ball like they were early in the season but that in part to losing Carlos Correa to his well-deserved promotion. The top of lineup can get on base but there's not a whole lot of power to drive them. Guys like Colin Moran have to provide some more power for this lineup.
Lancaster JetHawks vs. Rancho Cucamonga Quakes
8:00 PM CST
Lancaster is on a 3-gam losing streak and needs a strong performance from their now ace Joe Musgrove. He's shown that he can be that shutdown starter even in the offensive environment that is the Cal League. Tonight, his team needs that presence on the mound. At least he won't have to face off against Yasiel Puig last they had the last two nights.
He'll be facing off against an old friend in Rudy Owens.
Quad Cities River Bandits at South Bend Cubs
6:05 PM CST
Another game, another exciting young pitcher. QC will send Francis Martes who still has an ERA south of 1.00. His electric arm has worked out well in his 13 inning of full-season ball and will look to continue that. His walk rate is something to keep an eye on though. He'll face off the against a pitcher that's the opposite of him in stature. He's 6'0 170. Jeremy Null stands 6'7" 200. Big difference.
