Altuve day-to-day after reaggravating hamstring; Marisnick leaves today's game with injury

Astros second baseman Jose Altuve's status for upcoming series in Seattle.

Jose Altuve left Wednesday's game early after reaggravating his hamstrings.

Altuve left a game earlier this week with a hamstring issue, returning on Tuesday. he clearly was still in discomfort during the game. He couldn't push himself on the basepaths. Having left a second game, the Houston Chronicle's Evan Drellich is reporting the Astro haven't considered putting Altuve on the disabled list. Drellich spoke with Astros manager A.J. Hinch:

"Right now, the information we’re getting indicates that’s not necessary, so not at this point," Hinch said.

Altuve's status for the Astros upcoming series with Seattle is unknown at this moment.

Jake Marisnick left today's game with his own hamstring issues.

The Astros have a few answers for centerfield if he misses extended time. Drellich reported that Colby Rasmus could return as soon as Friday from the bereavement list. George Springer was originally drafted as a centerfielder and played center in the minors for the Astros

Jed Lowrie and Scott Feldman are making strides back to health. Lowrie will take grounders for the first time since his thumb surgery in Seattle during the weekend series. Feldman could have some bullpen work the following series.

Brad Peacock appears to have had a setback and is seeing a specialist for his intercostal strain.
