The Astros announced they have signed eight more of their 2015 picks, including one top-10 pick. Houston has signed outfielder Nestor Muriel, right-handed pitcher Kevin McCanna, center fielder Johnny Sewald, right-handed pitcher Makay Nelson, left-handed pitcher Alex Winkelman, right-handed pitcher Chris Murphy, catcher Jose Martinez and right-handed pitcher Zac Grotz.
Muriel was the Astros' sixth round pick out of the Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy High School in Florida, Puerto Rico.
Kevin McCanna, the Astros' 13th round pick, pitched at Rice University and lives in The Woodlands. He was ranked in MLB.com's top 200 draft prospects at no.154. The Astros must have thought highly of McCanna, he signed for the same dollar value as Michael Freeman -- the Astros 7th round pick.
