Astros Prospect Report: June 11th, 2015

The minor leaguers went 4-1 on the night with a handful of prospects making statements at the plate

Fresno Tacks On One in Ninth for 5-4 Win

Tony Kemp has moved up the ladder to AAA and is just now one step from the majors. He had no trouble getting on-base at an elite level in AA. He has a truly elite skill of making contact. 91.8% contact rate. For comparisons sake, Jose Altuve has that same skill and had an 88% contact rate at the same level. He draws a LOT more walks than Altuve ever did. Like three times the walk-rate. That comes at the expense of a slightly higher strikeout rate though. Kemp is also about two years older than Altuve was in CC. Kemp has less than half of Altuve's power but has an extremely high ability to get on-base

Peacock Rehabs for CC's 7-6 Win

You gotta let the Peacock fly on this one. He's working his way back and he had a good outing. The star of the night was Jon Kemmer. He was perfect on the night by going 4-4 with his sixth home run and bringing his average up to .299. and OBP to .385. His SLG% is at .514 giving him a .899 OPS and really close to his Lancaster OPS.

Phillips Mashes JetHawks to 9-8 Win

Maverick continues to spray the ball all over the field. He wasn't perfect at the plate like Kemmer, but he was very close as he did pick up four hits in five plate appearances, including two extra-base hits.

Tyler Brunnemann picked up five more strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings. His ERA is below 3 and has basically been the reliever version of dominant. #Callamup
