The prospect train continues to roll through town in Houston. The Astros recently called up 2012 draft pick Lance McCullers earlier this month, now they call up Feliz.
Feliz was signed by the Astros as an international free agent in 2010, after deal with the Athletics fell through following a failed drug test. Feliz moved above rookie ball in 2013, pitching with Low-A Tri-City. He spent the entire 2014 season with Quad Cities, posting a 8-6 record with a 4.03 ERA.
Feliz was selected to the 2014 All-Star Futures Game at Target Field in Minnesota.
In 2015, he has made eight appears with High A Lancaster - posting a 1-1 record with a 4.41 ERA. Feliz made one appearance with Double A Corpus Christi before being called up, allowing one run over four innings on May 26 against the Royals' Double A affiliate Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
The key here to this move appear to be the 40-man roster, the Astros don't have to take a man off the roster to make room for Feliz. Feliz can be an extra arm in the bullpen until Brett Oberholtzer is ready to pitch again.
