Astros announce 2015 promotions

The Astros announce their 2015 promotions including a celebration of 50 years of Astros baseball, Craig Biggio's election to the Hall of Fame, and a Dallas Keuchel gnome.

We are officially on the doorstep of the new baseball season, the Astros today announced their promotional plans for the 2015 season. The Astros will celebrate 50 years of the Astros name, Craig Biggio's election to the Hall of Fame, and the 2005 World Series team.

The Astros' 50th Anniversary Weekend will be held on April 17-18. A Jimmy Wynn and replica of the Astrodome in 1965 will be given away. As part of the Anniversary the Astros will wear a patch commemorating the switch the name to the Astros and the opening of the Astrodome.

Craig Biggio will be enshrined into the Baseball Hall of Fame on July 26 in Cooperstown, NY. Back in Houston, Biggio Hall of Fame Weekend is July 31-August 2. The Astros will give out Craig Biggio Hall of Fame bobblehead, a Craig Biggio Pinstripe jersey, and a replica Hall of Fame plaque.

The Legends Weekend celebrating the Astros 2005 World Series run is scheduled for August 14-15. Detroit will be in town to insure the inclusion of Tiger's manager Brad Ausmus.

Other promotional highlights, Jose Altuve "Hit Counter" Bobblehead on May 2, Dallas Keuchel "Gold Glove" Gnome on May 16, George Springer Replica Jersey on May 30, Orbit Face Glasses on May 31, and Lone Star Series Replica Silver Boot on July 17. Returning are Friday Night Fireworks, and Dollar Hot Dogs on Wednesday.
