The Houston Astros won't be playing in a stadium with a right field only 271 feet away from home plate this exhibition season -- look back at the Astros trip to the Alamodome two years ago.

Houston Chronicle's Evan Drellich broke the news that the Astros will be playing the San Diego Padres in Mexico City. The game is expected to be played over Easter weekend, March 25-27.

This isn't the first time the Astros have played in Mexico, Houston played the Miami (then Florida) Marlins in 2004.

The Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow was born and raised in Mexico City. He spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Mexico City, and answered questions about Jed Lowrie trade from Mexico.

Drellich also noted that MLB baseball is looking to expanded reach by opening an office in Mexico City in 2016. Will there be a NFL Europe equivalent soon to follow with baseball and Mexico? We'll have to wait and see.
