It was a special year for the Astros Triple A affiliate Fresno Grizzlies as the team won their second-ever Pacific Coast League Championship and first National Championship in 2015. At the helm was manager Tony DeFrancesco. DeFrancesco was named Minor League Manager of the Year by Baseball America on Monday.

DeFrancesco has spent the past five seasons coaching in the Astros organization, all five as manager of the Astros Triple A team -- it was the first year the Astros were affiliated with the Fresno Grizzlies. This is his 21st season as a minor league manager and his 31st in professional baseball. DeFrancesco has won four PCL championship, including three previous ones with Sacramento (2003, 2004, and 2007).

The Grizzlies finished with a 84-59 record in 2015, defeating Round Rock Express for the PCL championship and Columbus Clippers in the Triple A Championship.
