Houston hopes the victory is only delayed after a rough outing from Brett Oberholtzer, and the steady hand of former Ranger Scott Feldman will guide the Astros to the win.
Feldman has a quality start in five of his last six starts, outside of facing the Red Sox Feldman has been stellar since the All-Star break. In his most recent start, he held the Athletics to three runs over seven innings. This season, Feldman has a 3.44 ERA in 18.1 innings against the Rangers - he has allowed seven run in 11 innings against the Rangers at Minute Maid Park.
Feldman has kept most Rangers in check in his career, Adrian Beltre is batting .222 in 27 at-bats with a home run his career against Feldman. Alex Rios is batting .293 in 41 career at-bats with seven extra-base hits.
Robbie Ross Jr. takes the mound for the Rangers today after being recalled from Triple-A Round Rock. Ross was called up after Miles Mikolas was scratched from the start due to shoulder fatigue. Ross is making is second start since June with the Rangers, in his first start he gave up six runs over 4.1 innings on 98 pitchers against the Rays on August 14.
