Preview
One of the Astros' biggest surprises this season squares off against the Red Sox's newest toy in a Sunday matinee matchup.
I'm not even sure Jeff Luhnow expected to get this much from Collin McHugh this season (thought I probably would be wrong). McHugh had poor record over his first two season with Mets and Rockies when the Astros picked him up this off-season. Houston changed his pitch selection and turned him into a dynamo. He has given up just three earned runs over his last 19.1 innings. On the road he has a 1.89 ERA in eight starts this season.
No one currently playing for the Red Sox has a career hit against McHugh, the majority haven't faced him. Allen Craig is the only one with a hit and he's on the disabled list.
Joe Kelly makes his Fenway Park debut as a member of the Red Sox. Kelly faced his former division in his first two starts with Boston, as he took on the Reds and Cardinals. He gave up just two runs over 13 innings in those two starts. He did walk more batters then he struck out in his two start (7-6).
Dexter Fowler is the only Astro with a previous at-bat against Kelly and he is 0-for-2.
