Oklahoma City RedHawks (AAA) - With a 23-mph wind blowing out to right field, the RedHawks offense got up early against the Reno Aces (ARI). With multi-hit games from six different hitters, fifteen hits total, and just one strikeout, they built a six-run lead before giving up Reno's first runs of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Only Matt Duffy and Preston Tucker went hitless for Oklahoma City, with Tucker's batting average falling to .217 in the six games since his promotion (spoiler alert: he's fine). Marc Krauss, who was traded out of the Diamondbacks' system before getting promoted to play in Reno, provided the sole strikeout of the game for the road team with his very first at-bat, but made up for it with a pair of RBI. Redhawks win, 9-4.

Corpus Christi Hooks (AA) - Kyle Smith cruised through three innings against the South Division first-half winners - the Frisco RoughRiders (TEX) - until the fourth inning, and that's when the wheels came off the bus. After getting Pat Cantwell to fly out to center to lead off the inning, Smith walked Jake Smolinski and gave up consecutive singles to Joey Gallo and Trever Adams, loading the bases with one out. He got Odubel Herrera looking, but a Ryan Rua single and a Drew Robinson double plated four runs before he could get out of the inning. Down 4-0, the Hooks battled back, and a four-run inning of their own in the seventh tied it at 5-5, where it would remain through regulation. The top of the 10th, however, saw Michael Dimock walk Adams to lead things off, but Tyler Heineman caught him stealing second. An error by Jonathan Meyer put Herrera on base, followed by a Rua single and a Robinson walk. Dimock buckled down and got Jake Skole swinging, but a two-out single by Guilder Rodriguez plated a pair. In the bottom of the frame, the Hooks offense went silent against Phil Klein, and Corpus Christi lost, 7-5.

Lancaster Jethawks (A+) - The Jethawks got off to a running start in this one, putting three runs on the board in the first inning and never letting off the gas - they'd score in all but two innings, highlighted by a five-run third inning. The Lake Elsinore Storm (SDP) battled mightily, with three multi-run innings of their own after starter Kent Emanuel left the game, but even their seven runs wasn't enough against the onslaught from Lancaster. Jethawks win, 13-7.

Quad Cities River Bandits (A) - Postponed (Rain)
Quad Cities: 0-0, t-2nd - Midwest League Western (0.5 GB)
Tri-City ValleyCats (A-) - Joe Musgrove battled in this one. Despite allowing a run in the bottom of the second, he kept the ValleyCats close, and in the fifth inning - the last of his appearance - the offense came through for him. A Nick Tanielu single, a Ravel Santana walk, and an Ariel Ovando single loaded the bases for Jamie Ritchie, who grounded into a forceout at the plate. With two outs, Mott Hyde got the scoring started for Tri-City with an RBI HBP, and Marc Wik cleaned up with a bases-clearing double. That would be all the ValleyCats needed, but they tacked on two insurance runs in the final frames to clinch the 6-1 victory.

Greeneville Astros (Rk) - Jason Martin got off to a rough start to his season, striking out three times and grounding out on a bunt single in his first four at-bats. After switching to a lighter bat for his fifth, he put a hard-hit ball right at the first baseman, Trey Vavra, to complete an 0-for-5 debut. Unfortunately, he wasn't the only one off of his game. Starter Austin Nicely struggled, too, giving up six hits, three walks, and four runs (two earned) in his 3.2 innings of work. He was followed by Angel Heredia and Juan Santos, who didn't show better results. All told, the Elizabethton Twins (MIN) easily outpaced Greeneville in their season opener, 11-3.
