Preview
Scott Feldman takes the mound today for the Astros, the elderstateman at 31 years old. The former Oriole, Feldman, was brought in to be the leader the Astros rotationand guide the young staff in the ways of major league pitching. He's like a 6'7'' tall verison of Yoda. He had been on a rough streach since returning from the disabled list, giving up seven earned runs over nine innings before his start last Monday. But, he rebounded nicely in his most recent start - allowing two runs over six innings in a win against Kansas City.
Feldman posted the same line against the O's in their first meeting this season on May 9, holding Baltimore to two runs over six innings. He posted his highest strikeout total of the season at six and walked zero.
Wei-Yin Chen goes up against Feldman today for the O's, Baltimore has lost the last two starts he has made. The lefty has given up ten runs over 11.2 innings in those two starts. He has given up four home runs total in his previous two outings. This will be his second go-around with the Astros, he pitched arguarbly his best start of the season against Houston in their first matchup. He held the Astros to two runs on five hits over seven innings on May 9. Who will get the best of the rematch between Chen and Feldman?
The Astros will be going into an off-day tomorrow, who will get an extra day of rest or get a last shot before a roster move? It will be intersting to see.
