The Astros will miss Bud Norris this time around, and Brett Wallace has a had one at-bat this season with the O's. Dave Trembley, manager of the Orioles from '07 to '10, make a homecoming of sorts for the first time.
Baltimore is coming in on a roll, winners in six of their last eight games including a sweep of the Rays in their most recent series. The Orioles outfield has been mashing this past week, old foe Nelson Cruz has .840 OPS in his last 24 at-bats, Steve Pearce is at .837 in 22 at-bats, and Adam Jones is at .822 in 24 at-bats. Matt Wieters is continuing his solid year, with a .728 with 16 at-bats. But, Weiter has gone to see Dr. James Andrews for his shoulder - never a good sign.
Wei-Yin Chen takes the ball for Baltimore tonight. Chen has managed to get through the fifth inning in only two of his six starts thus far. He most recently pitched five innings against Minnesota on the 3rd, giving up 3 runs on six hits and one walk. Against Houston, he pitched 7.1 innings of 3-run baseball on July 30, 2013.
Jose Altuve was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in against Chen, and Matt Dominguez and Jonathan Villar each added a hit in three at-bats.
Scott Feldman is returning the Astros rotation after a stent on the 15-day disabled list for biceps tendinitis. He started the season with a 2-0 record and 0.44 ERA in three starts. In his final start before the DL, he allowed four runs in six innings on April 17 against the Royals.
Nick Markakis is 6-for-21 against his former teammate with three doubles in his career. J.J. Hardy is 1-for-3 with a double in his career against Feldman, and Adam Jones is 1-for-15.
