A lot of major and minor league movement on the state holiday Confederate Memorial day in South Carolina.
Major League Moves
Scott Feldman was activated from the disabled list and Paul Clemens was recalled from Class-AAA Oklahoma City.
#Astros activate RHP Scott Feldman from the DL to make tonight's start. Also, RHP Paul Clemens has been recalled from Triple A OKC.

but wait there's more.
Houston has also optioned LHP Brett Oberholtzer to Triple A OKC and has placed RHP Jose Cisnero on the 15-day DL.

Brett Oberholzter is a little bit of a surprise here. In seven starts he has a 5.68 ERA, but his peripherals indicate some positive regression. The only issue with that is that Oberholzter has given up four or more runs in the last three games. Brad Peacock hasn't been much better giving up three or more runs in the last three games, but he has gotten the Astros deeper into games.
Jose Cisnero has not pitched well for the Astros and after only 4 2/3 innings goes to the disabled list with elbow discomfort in his throwing arm. In his place the Astros recall Paul Clemens, who only pitched once for the RedHawks after being sent down due to the Astros signing of Tony Sipp on May 2. In a May 5 game, for the RedHawks, Clemens didn't allow a run in three innings of work.
Oberholtzer is a little bit of a surprise, but keeping Peacock up gives the Astros a little flexibility in shuffling pitchers and has the benefit of coming of a slightly better game than Oberholtzer. The silver lining is that Oberholtzer being sent down indicates that the Astros has some decent starting pitcher depth. I wouldn't feel to bad for Oberholtzer, he'll be back up at some point this season.
Minor League Moves
According to Anthony, several of these moves happened at the minor league level:
Ruben Alaniz to the 7-day DL retroactive to 5/4
Troy Scribner to the 7-day DL
Delino DeShields activated (CC)
Telvin Nash activated (CC)
J.D. Osborne activated (LAN) (this was actually done 5/6)
Edison Frias to EST
Michael Feliz activated (QC)
Brett Booth to EST
Kevin Comer to EST (these two moves actually came on 5/7)
- Delino DeShileds getting back at it after taking a fastball to the face, on April 18, is very encouraging.
- Kevin Comer back to extended spring training is frustrating. As part of the 2012 J.A. Happ, David Carpenter and Brandon Lyon trade with the Toronto Blue Jays, Comer has pitched a total of 57 2/3 innings for the Astros at Class-A or lower.
- Yay! Michael Feliz is back.
- Yes, Telvin Nash is still with the organization and still on an upward trajectory towards the major leagues.
