The Astros and Orioles have the priviage of particpating in the 2014 Civli Rights Game. The perpose of this game is celebrate people that came before us that were instramental in the Civil Rights movement. The event has taken a somber tone with the passing of Maya Angelou, she was scheduled to atttend as a guest of honor. The Astros will wear Negro League uniforms tonight, the Astros will done the blue and white of the Houston Eagles. While the O's will wear the black and red of the Baltimore Elite Giants.
Brett Oberholtzer will be making his second start since returning from his demotino to Triple-A Oklahoma City. He picked up a quality start in his most recent outing, three runs on six hits over six innings againt Seattle last Friday. The Astros currently have a six-man rotation for the time being, and Obe' is pitching on five days of rest. He has a 2-4 recored and a 3.12 ERA in seven starts on five days. The Astros left-hander made his first major leagure start against the O's on July 31 last season, holding Baltimore scoreless over seven inings and striking out six.
Miguel Gonzalez is coming to today's game with a two-game winnin streak. He has had the same line in both starts, two runs allowed over six innings against the Indians and Pirates. He faced the Astros on May 10, holding Houston to two runs over seven innings and strikingout six.
Jose Altuve and George Springer have been the wind beneith the Astros wings for the past week or so. Each are batting over .400 in the team's last seven games. Altuve is 13-for-31 in his last seven games with seven runs scord, two doubles, and two RBIs. While Springer has declared this year will be the "Summer of George", as hit he the game winning two-run home run last night. What will they do next?
