Plenty of fans showed up early to see the Lance and Roy Show one last time Saturday, as the Astros honor Lance Berkman and Roy Oswalt as they retire. During batting practice, Berkman came out onto the field and worked his way around the crown, signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans.
The two will receive rocking chairs, framed jerseys and stetson hats as part of a pre-game ceremony.
Two more Astros will miss Saturday's game with medical issues. Dexter Fowler is still suffering from gastroenteritis, with Robbie Grossman taking his place in center field and Jesus Guzman will start in left field for the first time. Marc Krauss gets the day off after playing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Jason Castro will also miss the game with his bruised right foot, but took batting practice before the game and hit the ball well. He's likely being held out of tonight's game as a precaution and all indications are he will play on Sunday.
The Astros made a minor roster move, designating reliever Chia-jen Lo for assignment and opening up a spot on the 40-man roster. Lo cleared waivers and will remain with Oklahoma City. Houston has not made a corresponding move yet, but chances are likely that they will make a waiver claim to fill the spot.
One last note from the media info for Saturday's game:
The Astros 17 team walks are tied for 4th in the American League. They drew a season-high seven walks on Friday.
