AAA Oklahoma City RedHawks: 5-0 loss to Round Rock

-> Max Stassi: 2-for-4
-> Austin Wates: 1-for-3
-> George Springer: 1-for-4
-> Jonathan Meyer: 0-for-2, BB

SP Jake Buchanan: 4.0 IP, 4 R (3 ER), 4 H, 2 BB, 3 K (loss)
RP Chia-Jen Lo: 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 K
RP Paul Clemen: 3.0 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 3 K

Round Rock jumped on Buchanan for three runs in the first, and the offense never put anything together; the four singles and a walk were all they could muster. Ronald Torreyes and Meyer both had errors as well. Goat of the game was Jon Singleton, who struck out three times.

AA Corpus Christi Hooks: 2-1 win over Tulsa

-> Delino DeShields: 1-for-3, BB, 2 SB
-> Jiovanni Mier: 1-for-4, 2B, RBI
-> Matthew Duffy: 1-for-4, 2B
-> Nolan Fontana: 1-for-5
-> Andrew Aplin: 0-for-2, 2 BB
-> Enrique Hernandez: 0-for-3, BB, R
-> Preston Tucker: 0-for-3, R

SP David Rollins: 4.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 6 K
RP Aaron West: 4.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K (win)
RP Alex Sogard: 1.0 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 0 BB, 1 K (save)

Another close one for the Hooks; they scored their two in the top of the ninth and Tulsa got its one run in the bottom of the frame. Luckily it went their direction tonight

Mier has played third base exclusively so far; this might be a sign that they've pegged him as a utility guy. Most people are disappointed by him, and rightly so, but he's always walked, and if he can learn all four infield positions, he could be a decent bench guy and role player. That's something, at least.

Aplin has hit third both nights, so I'd say he's a big part of the plans at Corpus. Heras and Tucker have split time in LF/DH in the first two games, with DeShields in center, for those wondering how the OF will work out with four legit prospects all needing playing time. It looks like it will be Cokinos at 1B and Duffy at 3B most of the time, with Duffy sliding over to 1B as needed.

A+ Lancaster JetHawks: 6-1 loss to Lake Elsinore

-> Anthony Kemp: 2-for-3, 2B, R
-> Teoscar Hernandez: 1-for-4, SB
-> Carlos Correa: 0-for-2, BB, RBI
-> Justin Gominsky: 0-for-2, BB
-> Rio Ruiz: 0-for-3, BB
-> Danry Vasquez: 0-for-3, BB

SP Lance McCullers: 4.0 IP, 2 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 7 K (loss)
RP Juan Minaya: 1.0 IP, 2 R (0 ER), 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K
RP Kyle Smith: 4.0 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 5 K

Three total runs scored combined for the top three teams in our system; not a great night. McCullers and Smith were both solid, with clearly nice peripherals, though they could have done better; McCullers was introduced to Lancaster's bandbox by having a pair of long balls hit off of him. Smith got four ground ball outs and none in the air; so nine of twelve total outs for him either on the ground or on strikes.

A- Quad Cities River Bandits: Postponed (Cold)

So...I don't get this, exactly. It was in the upper 30's in Davenport tonight, but I've never heard of a game being postponed simply due to temperature. Double-header is scheduled for today (Saturday), but it could be even colder tonight, so I don't know what they're going to do.

Tomorrow's Scheduled Starters

AAA: Nicholas Tropeano vs. Scott Baker
AA: Luis Cruz vs. Jonathan Gray
A+: Josh Hader vs. Colin Rea
A-: Kent Emanuel vs. Tyler Skulina (Game One), Michael Feliz vs. Daury Torrez (Game Two)
