The Astros' opening day roster is beginning to take shape. The first round of roster cuts have happened. Houston came into camp with 65 players, that number is now down to 56 players. There weren't many surprises, only one name on the 40-man roster was sent to minor league camp, Paul Clemens.
Cuts: Jake Buchanan, Bobby Doran, Heras, Meyer, C Ryan McGurdy, Jason Stoffel, Ronald Torreyes, Nick Tropeano and OF Preston Tucker

Clemens affectionately called "Pinky" (at least by Tim and I) after dislocating at his pinky finger on come-backer early in the 2013 season. The right-hander made 30 appearances out of the bullpen in 2013, and finished the season by making five starts with a 0-3 record and 3.71 ERA.
