TCB's Astros Fan Favorite March Madness Tournament is underway. From now until the end of Spring Training 64 players will spend the next several weeks facing off in a head to head public vote to determine who advances to the next round and who will eventually be crowned the communities favorite Astros player. For more details check out the tournament introductory post.
The rules are simple, determine which player you want to advance to the next round and then vote. Vote subjectively, objectively, using your trusty magic eight ball or any other set of criteria. It's totally up to you how you want to vote! Votes for this round will last exactly 24 hours.
In this match-up
4 - Lucas Harrell
Disaster is about the only way to describe Harrell's 2013 season. The 5.42 FIP, the 5.15 BB/9, the 20 home runs allowed and the problems he caused in the Astros' locker room. Nothing went right for Harrell after a wonderful rookie season in '12. Harrell still can eat up innings as he managed to still tie for the team with 153.2 IP last season. Harrell isn't a favorite to make the rotation, but new pitching coach Brent Strom will look to get this ground ball inducer right again. -Perry
vs
13 - Jonathan Villar
Making his major league debut last year, Villar was exciting and adventorous at times. Which is good because Astros fans haven't had much of either to watch at the major league level. He flashed some potential both offensively and defensively last year. In less than 300 plate appearances he stole 18 bases, one of which was a straight steal of home, and he walked at an above average rate. What to expect out of Villar in 2014, is anyones guess, however, one thing is for certain it should be fun to watch.
