A four-game day for the playoffs kicks off at noon. The Tigers and Orioles play again, as the beleaguered Detroit bullpen hopes to reverse its fortunes. Detroit's Justin Verlander will oppose Baltimore's Wei-Yin Chen.
The Nationals will open up the postseason at 3 p.m., as Washington's Steven Strasburg takes on San Francisco's Jake Peavy.
At 6 p.m., the Dodgers and Cardinals face off in a battle of the two most unlikable teams in these playoffs. St. Louis' Adam Wainright will face LA's Clayton Kershaw in a matchup of the eventual Cy Young winner and runner-up this season.
Finally, the Royals will take on the Angels in the nightcap, which I'm sure Kansas City hopes doesn't go into extra innings yet again. KC will start Yordano Ventura while the Angels will shart Matt Shoemaker in a battle of rookies.
Games throughout the MLB playoffs will be broadcast on a variety of TV stations, and fans will also have the option of streaming the games online. As with the regular season, MLB.TV gives you the chance to watch every playoff game on your computer or mobile device, and Major League Baseball is offering a subscription just for the postseason.
In addition, MLB is also partnering with TBS to help promote Postseason.TV, which will provide live, alternate angle companion coverage of the AL playoffs. Subscribers to Postseason.TV will be able to choose from 10 different camera angles and watch four alternate angles at once. The subscription also comes with the ability to stream batting practice live and can be watched on a mobile device.
Beyond these options, fans can also stream each matchup online at TBS.com, Watch ESPN, or with Fox Sports Go depending on which network is broadcasting the game. TBS will be providing coverage for the AL playoffs, and those games can be streamed online at TBS.com or with the Watch TBS mobile app. Games on ESPN can be streamed at WatchESPN.com or with the Watch ESPN app. Fox will be broadcasting parts of the NLDS and all of the NLCS on Fox Sports 1 and the World Series on Fox. Those games can be streamed online at Fox Sports Go or with the Fox Sports Go mobile app.
