Hall of Fame
I'm so over this.
Astros Sign right-handed reliever Jesse Crain
The Crain signing is the flashest signing Jeff Luhnow has made this offseason. There was a lot of anticipation and #want from the TCB community in regards to the possibility of the Astros signing Crain and with good reason. In 2013 Crain posted a 0.74 ERA and a 1.52 FIP in 36 2/3 innings for the White Sox. Pretty fantastic numbers, unfortunately, Crain's season was over by July. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays with the idea that he would be healthy enough to pitch at the end of the season, but that feel through. Now, there's hope he'll be ready for Opening Day but he's behind on his offseason throwing program and it's likely that he misses the first part of the season.
When he does finally pitch for Houston will he instantly become the teams closer? I think so, but we'll have to see how the rest of the revamped bullpen works out.
Tyler Heineman Interview
Astros catching prospect Tyler Heineman joins us to talk about some of the nuances of catching, what he and some of the Lancaster pitchers talk about on the mound, what it's like playing for Morgan Ensberg, who his favorite Hollywood catcher is and more. Tyler is a really great interview despite some of my awful questions.
