Preview
So, another Astros season comes to a close. It's been an interesting experience to write a preview each game; hopefully I have improved some what with each passing game.
There is no more fitting end to this season then Erik Bedard taking the mound today; he has been a roller coaster between brilliant and disaster. Bedard is the last man standing when it comes to the Astros retread singees this offseason - gone are Carlos Pena, Rick Ankiel, Ronny Cedeno, and Philip Humber was relegated to the bullpen. Bedard will be making his third start since returning to the rotation - he is 0-2 with a 10.00 ERA in his two previous starts. He made a start against the Yankees back on May 1 - he pitched four innings and gave up four runs.
David Huff is making his second start of the season for the Yankees today. Huff allowed 9 runs over 3.1 innings in his previous start against Boston on August 7. In Huff's last appearance, he pitched 3.2 innings and gave up four runs in relief against Tampa Bay on September 25.
