The Astros at least got close this time in the one-run loss to the Yankees.
But still, the Houston lineup produced only one extra base hit - Brett Wallace's two-run double in the seventh inning. L.J. Hoes bumped his average up to .282 on the year by going 2-for-4 on the night.
That was not enough, despite a decent start by Brett Oberholtzer. Obie went 5.1 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits. A Matt Dominguez errant throw was the reason one of the runs in the fourth inning was not earned for Oberholtzer. Mark Reynolds had an RBI single and David Adams an two-run double in the fourth frame.
In the good news department, Josh Zeid, Kevin Chapman and Josh Fields combined for 3.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts.
Also, former Astros pitcher Andy Pettitte was honored during the game for his service with Houston. Ohhhhhhh, the good 'ol days. And per TCB writer Timothy DeBlock, a video to describe today's action.
