MLB Scores: Angels 6, Astros 2

All good things must end, and that happened on Saturday night as the Astros fell to Jered Weaver and the Angels.

A Brett Wallace two-run home run in the fourth was the extent of the Houston offense. The Astros had nine hits, led by another great day for Jose Altuve, who was 3-for-4. But other than Wallace's home run, the eight other hits were all singles and Houston finished the game by leaving eight men on base.

Weaver, combined with three Angels relievers, were able to scatter the Astros nine knocks to keep them off the board other than the fourth inning.

Astros starter Brett Oberholtzer has been fantastic for Houston lately, but didn't have everything working on Saturday. He managed to work six innings, but allowed four runs on six hits while walking two.

A Chris Ianetta solo home run got things going for Anaheim in the third. In the fourth, back-to-back doubles made it 3-0, Angels. Ianetta continued his good series by singling in another run to make it 4-0 before Wallace's homer that cut the lead to two in the bottom half.

But the Astros would never get closer. Grant Green led off the seventh inning with a double of Houston's David Martinez, advanced to third on a sac bunt and scored on a passed ball by Carlos Corporan.

Then in the ninth Green scored again on a sac fly by former Astro J.B. Shuck.

Martinez' outing wasn't terribly good or bad as he pitched the final three innings allowing two runs on three hits and three walks.

The Astros will go for a second straight series win behind Paul Clemens on Sunday.
