After last nights loss it was announced that Astros outfielder J.D. Martinez was going on the 15-day disabled list for a sprained left wrist, according to Brian T. Smith. This is the second time Martinez has been placed on the disabled list. The last time he was placed on the disabled list was April 20 for a sprained right knee. On the season Martinez has a .291 wOBA in 287 plate appearances.
In his place the Astros have re-called outfielder Robbie Grossman who was previously with the club April 24 to May 27. In his previous stint with the Astros he struggled to establish himself and hit for a .262 wOBA in 131 plate appearances with the big league club. Since being demoted Grossman has hit for a .265 batting average, a .374 wOBA and a .368 slugging percentage. Overall he has a .347 wOBA in 305 plate appearances with Class-AAA Oklahoma City. He's expected to be in Toronto in time for the 12:07 p.m. CT start time.
