Everyone's favorite reliever has returned to the Astros. Hector Ambriz is set to rejoin the team after the break, which could the entire Astros fan base to cry out in terror. Per Brian McTaggart:

And the terror:

Prior to his demotion Ambriz posted a 5.40 ERA, but that also came with a 5.07 FIP and 4.29 xFIP. The FIP and xFIP being below the ERA and his BABIP being at .357 indicates that he could be in for some favorable regression.

After his demotion to Oklahoma City, Ambriz pitched very well for the RedHawks allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits in five innings pitched. He didn't allow any walks and struck out five of the 18 batters he faced in Class-AAA.

The Astros also released 30 year old Jose Valdez, according to the transaction page on MiLB.com. Valdez had a 5.72 ERA in 39 plus innings this season for Oklahoma City. He was signed as a free agent by the Astros in 2009 and appeared out of the bullpen for the Astros during the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
