Well, it was bound to happen, right?
The Astros lost to the score of 4-1. Chris Tillman of the Orioles was able to effectively shut down the Astros in his 7 innings and unfortunately the bullpen pitchers who followed him were just as effective. The only run of the game came on this pitch:
Which was hit by this guy:
Who watched the ball sail this high:
And that was about it as far as offense and defense went for the Astros, at least in the positive sense.
Lucas Harrell continued the streak of good starting pitching, going 7 innings and giving up only 5 hits and 1 earned run. Wesley Wright and Josh Fields came in afterwards and both gave up runs, though Wright's run was unearned. Had Jason Castro not made a throwing error down the third-base line, the run wouldn't have scored on that play. But it's not like it even mattered because the Orioles were already ahead at the time. Still, though, sloppy play.
Dallas Keuchel will be starting tomorrow. Hopefully he'll continue to have the same success that all our other starting pitchers are having lately. Hopefully keep those balls on the ground, not in the sky.
