Preview
Erik Bedard will take the mound, coming off one of his best starts of the season against the White Sox. He held Chicago to three hits over six innings, allowing only one run. Bedard has collected four quality starts over his last six trips to the mound. The Astros' left-hander collected to two loses in as many starts against the Brewers last season. He gave up 11 runs in 8 1/3 innings of work in those two starts as a Pirate. Carlos Gomez and Aramis Ramirez are batting over .400 and each have a homerun against Bedard lifetime.
Kyle Lohse, the main focus of the draft compensation conversation this offseason. Lohse was saved from sitting at home by the Brewers. He signed a 3-year, $33 million contract with the Brewers, and Milwaukee had to forfeit the seventeenth pick overall in this year's draft as compensation. Lohse has been fighting a sore elbow and collecting a 6.51 ERA in the month of May. In June, Lohse appears to have turned the corner - collecting three quality starts thus far. In nine at-bats Jose Altuve has three hits against Lohse, including a homerun and three RBIs.
