RHP Jordan Lyles (3-1/ 4.03 ERA / 1.52 WHIP) vs. RHP Jeremy Bonderman (1-1 / 6.75 ERA / 1.31 WHIP)
Preview
The Astros have traded in their six-game winning streak at the beginning of June, for a six-game losing streak today. Fortunately for the Astros, they have the right man for the job of ending that slide. Jordan Lyles has been masterful since his call up at the beginning of May. If you were to shave off Lyles only outing this year where he gave up more then three runs in a start (May 12 vs. Texas, 4 IP 8 ERs), his ERA would be 2.65. In the month of June alone, his ERA is 2.84. Michael Morse is 2-for-7 against Lyles, with a solo homerun. With the roll that Lyles is on, and the pitcher-friendly Safeco at his back - you don't know what might happen?
If you thought Aaron Harang was blast from the past, get a load of Jeremy Bonderman. A series of injuries and poor performances kept the right-hander out of major league baseball since 2010. Bonderman's return is a success in itself after getting his first win in his last start against the Yankees - he pitched six innings of one-run baseball. It was Bonderman's first win since September 8, 2010. Ronny Cedeno (.333) and Trevor Crowe (.250) both previous had at-bats against Bonderman in the past five seasons.
