Pitching Match

RHP Bud Norris (5-5/ 3.43 ERA / 1.47 WHIP) vs. RHP Aaron Harang (2-6 / 6.70 ERA / 1.40 WHIP)

Preview

Bud Norris may be auditioning his services for another team today, but his first priority is to end the Astros' five game loosing streak. Since the start of April (minus a seven-run outing to the Rangers) has an ERA of 1.76 over his six of seven starts. In Norris' last start against Seattle, he out dueled Hisashi Iwakuma in a 3-2 Astros win. Norris scattered 8 hits - Michael Morse and Justin Smoak both collected two hits off Norris in the one start.

The longtime NL Central foe, Aaron Harang also finds himself in the AL West this season. Things have not gone well fo Harang in Seattle thus far. In his last start against the Yankees, Haranag lasted only 2 1/3 innings and gave up six runs on eight hits - including back-to-back homeruns by Robinson Cano and Mark Teixeira. The spacious Safeco Field hides some of Harang's faults with high fly ball rate (.55 GO/FO). It has resulted in a ERA that is two runs lower at home (5.68 ERA) then on the road (7.97 ERA). Ronny Cedeno 5-for-11 lifetime against Harang with a home run and six RBIs.
