Preview
The draft is in the over; the draftees are waiting to sign. Time to take a deep breath, and relax. Let's set the mood with some dog-bongos with Kevin Goldstein, and take in some late-night baseball in Seattle.
The Astros' big lefty, Dallas Keuchel takes the mound tonight. Kechel has put together back-to-back quality starts against the Angels and Orioles. He gave up three runs over 13 innings, striking out seven, and walking two. Kechel has pitched well on the road in two starts (Yes, it's a small sample size), collected a 3.02 ERA thus far. In his second appearance of 2013, the lefty held the Mariners hitless and walked two (Morales, Shoppach) in two innings in relief.
Hisashi Iwakuma will be a tough match up for the Astros to say the least, Iwakuma currently has the second lowest ERA in the American League(1.94 ERA). He is only behind Clay Buckholz with a 1.71 ERA. He is leading the league in WHIP (0.83 WHIP). Iwakuma struck out 11 Astros in his previous start against Houston this year. Bud Norris outdueled the Seattle right-hander for his only loss of the season. Carlos Pena drew two walks in three at-bats and Martin Gonzalez stroked a line-drive home run into the right field seats against Iwakuma.
