Introducing TCB's 2013 MLB Draft Coverage

Well, sort of. It's been going on for a while now but Wednesday marks us kicking into another gear.

Since 2010, we've had a yearly tradition here at The Crawfish Boxes. Every year, we roll out draft profiles on likely Astros draft targets, on Houston-area draftees or even interesting Texas college guys.

Two years ago, we got 30 profiles done.

Last year, we upped that to 50.

This year, our awesome minor league/draft team has the lofty goal of 75 profiles. You've seen some of them already, as the team has been pouring them out two or three per week for the past couple of months. They'll be updating those to repost in the coming days, but we have plenty more content on the way.

Starting Wednesday, we'll publish five draft profiles a day leading up to the draft. We have another mock draft in the works and will finish up the draft positional rankings as well.

It's a lot of content, but we don't want to overwhelm the site. So, we're going to utilize the Draft Profile stream. Every day, starting Wednesday, we'll publish those five profiles from 8:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. Instead of seeing the profiles scroll through the layout with every other story, we'll pin the draft stream to the top spot, where the series streams usually live.

I've got a handful of profiles going up Wednesday, but the majority of the work on this has been done by our outstanding minor league team. Enjoy the fruits of their considerable labors over the next 15 days and then marvel at how they nailed all these profiles leading up to the draft.

It's a good time to be a fan of the draft and it all kicks into a new gear today.
