Pitching Match

LHP Dallas Keuchel (0-1 / 4.96 ERA / 1.84 WHIP) vs. RHP Alexi Ogando (3-2 / 3.08 / 1.26 WHIP)

Oh, so close. A series sweep of the Angels was in the Astros' grasp. On to the next series, the Juice Box welcomes back the Texas Rangers. The other half of this arranged rivalry, will once again flex it's might at the plate and mound.

Dallas Keuchel makes his first start in 2013; he's the next man up in this shell game of a rotation. History is repeating itself; Keuchel's first start last season came against the Rangers as well. In that start, Keuchel allowed only one run in five innings of work. As a starter, his home ERA is 2.95, in 10 starts at MMP. On the mound for the Rangers tonight is Alexi Ogando. Of his seven starts thus far, Ogando has given up two runs or less in five of those starts. He has also stretched out further in to games; Ogando has pitched at least into the sixth inning in his last three starts. In Ogando's first start against the Astros, he pitched 6 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball and struck out ten. The Kstros will have to work the count, to have any chance against Ogando.

The Astros can only get better against Ogando, 10 strikeouts over 6 1/3 has to be the bottom. We will find out tonight, if Keuchel can eat up innings as a sacrificial lamb or Ranger killer.
