TCB's Astros Fan Favorite March Madness Tournament is underway. From now until the end of Spring Training, 64 players will face off in a head-to-head public vote to determine who advances to the next round, and who will eventually be crowned the community's favorite Astros player. Acquired as one of seven players in the Brandon Lyon, J.A. Happ and David Carpenter to Toronto Blue Jays trade, Carlos Perez quickly showed why the Astros had included him in the deal. Between the Blue Jays A level and Astros high A level, Perez hit .285/.350/.438 in 416 plate appearances. His defense is also considered to be solid and reports are that he calls a good game. Currently, Perez is considered one of the top catching prospect in the Astros minor league system.

Coming off Tommy John surgery that wiped out his entire 2011 season Vincent Velasquez saw limited time on the mound for the Astros Tri-City low A club what innings he did pitch were nothign short of dazzling. In 45.2 starter innings Velazquez posted a 2.85 Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP) with 51 strikeouts and 17 walks. 2013 could be a big year for Vincent Velasquez.
