Astros Minor League Recap: September 13, 2012

Just one game last night and it started out phenomenally, but it went bad in a hurry. Aaron West carried a perfect game into the sixth inning when an error on Joe Sclafani allowed the lead-off hitter to get on base. He then struck out the second batter and followed it up with giving up his first hit to put runners on second and third. The next batter grounded out but advanced the runners a base each. This is where the damage came, next batter hits a grounder up the middle and both runners score and ties the game at two runs a piece. It's good to see West at least end his season with a good game on the mound, despite the results of the team.

The offense couldn't muster anything else up the three runs that Jamaine Cotton would allow would be the nail in the coffin.

The series continues tonight with Joe Bircher on the mound and it's a must win situation with this being a three game series. It's win or go home time for the ValleyCats.

The Lancaster JetHawks will get their Championship Series going tonight against the Modesto Nuts. I would presume that David Martinez will be taking the mound to kickoff the five game series.
