Abad back in the rotation?
Abad back in the rotation?

Jiovanni Mier is heading back to Lancaster as he is finally done rehabing from his hamstring strain. It took a long time to recover from after a few setbacks, but he is back and wanting the playoffs. He has just 26 games under his belt at Lancaster, and has about the same amount remaining in the schedule to finish out the season. Playoffs would definitely help in getting some of that development time back. Lancaster is eight games back from first in the second half, but the first half winner is in first place, so they only have to get second place. The good news is that they are only one game back in that wild card race! Jio returning could definitely help, but the probable loss of George Springer doesn't.

As for making room for Jio, Chan Moon is the likely and unfortunate odd man out of the in-field. He will likely be sent back to Lexington and his spot has already been cleared with Jose Fernandez being sent down to Greeneville yesterday.

I saw a little of Aaron West's start last night, but it was difficult to get any real impressions. The camera crew would give you a side view of his delivery and then switch to the view behind home plate during the pitch. I couldn't get a real good look at his stuff. Reillocity is pretty good at that, so maybe he was able to see better than I could. What I could see was that his fastball does have some arm-side run and he can hit his spots pretty well. Although, you didn't need to see him to pitch to know that since he's only walked five all season.
