WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!!!!! I feel like Jeff Luhnow and Company are The Joker in the hospital scene with Harvey Dent and he's talking about me and other fans as being schemers with plans and all he does is take our little plan and turn it around so everyone just goes insane!

Ok, so obviously not that extreme, but Delino DeShields to AA!?!?! I was not expecting that at all! I like plans. I like progression. I thought DDJ would be going to Lancaster. But, Luhnow turned that around on me. All jokes aside, DDJ has been phenomenal this year and has truly earned his promotion. Last night he exceeded his last year's home run total with his 10th and also stole his 83rd base. His OBP is over .400 despite his batting average being slightly under .300, so he obviously draws a ton of walks. It's aggressive and that's for sure. Luhnow obviously wants to really see him in a tough environment since it's difficult to really evaluate anyone in Lancaster. He obviously could have learned from facing the better pitchers, but the environment still makes it difficult to evaluate.

This news comes on the heels of Jose Martinez getting the call-up to AAA for Corpus, which left the spot open for DDJ to fill. Despite being an older prospect, Martinez is a Luhnow guy and left baseball for a little while because of family tragedy, so you have to view him younger than he really is. It will be interesting to see how he does.

Ok, so I just read on twitter that DDJ is going to Lancaster. I'm leaving all of that because I think it's a good analogy...and I love the Dark Knight. Lancaster makes a lot more sense and I'm more comfortable with it, but AA would be understandable, but I like this better. There are surely more roster moves coming, especially with Jiovanni Mier back on the field for Lancaster last night.

The promotions are here, fans! Get excited!

One last note. To clear up the discussion on Aaron West from yesterday. I've posted this earlier in the season but I received a little more detail on it yesterday. He sits 92-93 on his 2-seam fastball and occasionally hits 96. He thinks the smaller seams on the pro-balls are allowing him to get better movement and velocity. He also throws a slider and changeup. Those velocity readings are based on the ValleyCats team guns and not stadium guns. He also doesn't have much of a pitch count regulation as he has gotten up to 100 pitches once but his last outing was 82 pitches.
