It's a good thing I took a three hour nap before the game, because had I not I would of likely been in bed before this game was over. Jordan Lyles kept it close for a while but in the end took his sixth loss of the season. Not much to really say about this game except that it's typical of what we've seen the last few weeks.
If you haven't checked the standing lately I would advise against it unless you're rooting for the number one pick in the 2013 draft. In which case we're winning.
Pitching
Jordan Lyles pitched six innings allowing five runs on 11 hits and five walks while striking out three. Fernando Abad started the seventh but failed to finish it allowing three earned runs on two hits and one walk. Enerio Del Rosario would get the final out of the seventh inning. Rhicher Cruz struck out one in a perfect eighth. Overall the Astros pitching staff allowed eight runs on 13 hits and three walks. They also struck out five batters. ewwwwww.
Offense
Marwin Gonzalez was 3-4 with a run scored. I don't know that I like him in the two hole, but I guess it's better than Jordan Schafer batting at the top of the lineup. Schafer by the way was 1-3 with a run scored. J.D. Martinez was the only other player to reach base multiple times with a 2-4 day that resulted in a run batted in. Overall the Astros scored two runs on six hits and one walk.
Defense
Brian Bogusevic had an error in right field on a ball that he should of easily caught, but had it bounce of his glove. Luckily the Astros got a double play after that to avoid any damage that could have come from that error.
