My apologies, but I'm going to blow through this one pretty quick.
Oklahoma City, Corpus, and Lexington all had come from behind wins last night. OkC took the lead in the eighth inning to win the game. Corpus tied it in the bottom of the ninth but had to score in the tenth to keep it tied and then won it by one off of a three run shot by Austin Wates in walk-off fashion. Lexington put up four runs to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth and battled til the 15th inning to finally put a run up again to win the game. Crazy long game.
Ross Seaton pitched seven of the eleven innings for Corpus and allowed just two runs. If you like the quality start stat, it was his fifth in his last six games. Seaton is firmly putting a foot forward this season and continues to build some success. He didn't pile up the strikeouts last night, but I'll take four in seven innings from him at this point. He had to battle some, and to leave with just two runs is a good outing. He kept the ball low, got a lot of groundouts, and limited the walks.
Three days in a row now I'll be saying something about DDJ. But, I can't help it. You hit home runs on back to back days and then follow it up with a night where you get five hits, you're gonna get mentioned. His average is up to .290 now and if he finishes the season at Lexington, it's not crazy to think he could have his average over .300 for the season. Remember when we said we'd be thrilled to see his average get over .275 for the season? His OPS in July (10 games) is 1.194. To say he's not on fire for the month would be crazy talk.
