Astros Minor League Recap: June 13, 2012

I'm going to make this short and sweet because I have to make sure I get to class on time for a test and hopefully have time for a quick review as well. Dang west coast game distracted me way too late.

Brett Oberholtzer was the man of the night. He had a really good outing and actually his third solid game in a row. Without a doubt, it's the best of them and perhaps the best of the season, only his outing on May 21st could compete. I was really down on him a few weeks ago but he's slowly turning it around. I kind of rolled my eyes at this article when I saw it, but he kind of shut me up last night. He is repeating the level, but he's still 22 (turns 23 in July) so he can afford that. And, a promotion to AAA isn't out of the question at this point of the season with either of Bass and Galarraga having a chance at not meeting expectations or filling a rotation spot in Houston as we get closer to the trade deadline.

But, the nice thing I like to take from this is that the Corpus team has loads of talent and has struggled but a lot of parts are starting to put it together. Just look at the last two nights from the starting pitching and Jonathan Villar recently.
