Unfortunately Subber10 sounds like he is going to have a less than exciting week with finals to attend to and will be unable to do his recaps this week. Therefore I will try and do my best to pinch-hit for him and keep the recaps going. Today will be a little bit short as i have a busy Monday morning, but i will try to find something interesting here to talk about for the rest of the week.

Jordan Lyles made his 2012 debut yesterday and pitched well in his no decision. Here we will take a brief look at one of his rotation mates who could also see some time with the Astros this season if he keeps performing like he has so far. Soft tossing lefty Dallas Keuchel threw his fifth consecutive quality start to open the season. He is averaging just under 7 innings a start with 33.1 IP in his 5 starts. He has a 1.62 ERA and a very impressive WHIP of .990. He's not the overpowering type as his 4.3 K/9 would indicate, but he has been very successful at generating groundball outs. His groundball percentage was at 60% prior to Sundays start and should increase after he recorded 14 more outs of the groundball variety. Paul Clemens has the greatest prospect allure out of the RedHawks team, and my guess is he would see time with the Astros before Kuechel, but it's nice to see Keuchel performing well and stating his case. It's possible that he could see some time with the Astros as a September call-up this season if not earlier.
