I'm really getting into this Lancaster team. They are pretty exciting to listen to. With my schedule, I usually don't get sat down and relaxed til around 8 or 9 o'clock on most nights, so it's perfect timing to get focused on my school work, get caught up on other games, and start listening the Lancaster game. Of course, there are nights where I don't so I can focus better or the team is getting stomped, but most nights, they keep the game interesting. Last night was a pretty interesting listen. You had a lot going on, Telvin Nash's 7th home run, Jonathan Meyer continuing to make contact, Ben Heath picking up two hits, Domingo Santana picking up two hits in his second game back, George Springer with a great throw from the outfield, Jiovanni Mier picking up clutch hits and making impressive defensive plays.

But, I want to focus on Jio's recent performance at the plate. He's showing signs of life and MiLB.com is taking notice. There's an interesting quote in the article about how he ends up trying to find his swing mid-season, which is obviously not a good thing. From my talks with people who are familiar with him, Mier is the type that can get overly confident, which ends up getting into a slump because he looses his focus and then he finishes the season pressing. Basically, he had too much success early in his baseball career and he allows it to get to his head. He has the talent to get by that way, but he's not above a hard work ethic, because nobody is in this game. There has been a big change in him from his first season at Lexington, and it looks like he's starting to mature. If he can sustain his recent success, it will speak volumes of his maturity level, and ultimately his prospect status.

Oh, did I mention I will be attending Oklahoma City RedHawks' double header tonight? Follow me on twitter @Subber10 to get live updates.
