This wasn't a real entertaining one to watch and yes we finally got to watch an Astros game again. Unfortunately, the Astros struggled to pick up Jordan Lyles in this one after taking a come-backer off his hip. He would be okay, but gave up four runs total. Jed Lowrie also took a foul ball off his right foot and exited the game at the end of the fourth inning. Neither injury appears to be serious.
Jason Bourgeois was a healthy scratch for the game. It sounds like a transaction may be in the works according to Zachary Levine.
Offense
Never could get anything going to pick up Lyles. The offense managed only one run on four hits and two walks. Chris Johnson continued his good Spring smacking a solo shot in the fifth inning.
Pitching
Lyles started the game and as mentioned above got hit in the hip by a Daniel Descalso line drive to start the game. He would give up three runs in the first inning, but settle in for the second, third and fourth inning. He would eventually give up four runs in five innings of work on seven hits; he struck out one. Brandon Lyon followed Lyles for an inning of work and gave up a run. Brett Myers pitched a perfect seventh. Enerio Del Rosario pitched a shutout eighth and Xavier Cedeno allowed a run in the ninth.
Defense
No errors in this one, but Brian Bogusevic misplayed a ball in right field that may of resulted in an extra run. Marwin Gonzalez who replace Lowrie had a couple of nice fielding plays at short.
