Astros Off-Season League Update

I haven't had time to even check if the Mesa Solar Sox have played in front of the pitch f/x cameras this week, so I don't have anything really in-depth like I have in the previous two updates.

The big news from the Arizona Fall League is that Jarred Cosart will be one of the starters in the AFL Rising Stars game on Saturday. That game will be aired on MLB Network at 7 PM CST. I don't think the rest of the roster's have been announced.

One of the interesting things that I noticed on the list of Astros Winter League participants was that Alberto Arias was included. I was under the impression that he was no longer with the organization, but perhaps he still is. This could be the beginning of a return of one of the better relief pitchers the Astros have had over the past several years. He was once a solid piece in the pen but the injuries have just derailed him since.

I forgot to mention this last week even though I included it last week, but the parenthesis is the players overall performance number for the duration of the of league, not just that week.
