Well, we're one step closer to the 2011 Rule 4 draft. You might be wondering what the schedule is going to be like for the actual draft. That's why TCB is here to help. Let's run through what you need to know:
The draft will start on Monday, June 6 at 6 p.m. CST. The first round will be broadcast on MLB Network and Jimmy Wynn will be the Astros ambassador announcing their first round pick. TCB will be recording a podcast during that time, which will be available later in the week.
On Tuesday, the draft picks up with the second round and on, starting at 11 a.m. CST. You can listen to the selections through MLB.com. Check back at TCB throughout the day on Tuesday, as we break down the first round pick and give you updates on what's happening in the rest of the rounds. We'll also try to throw in a few more profiles on the picks after they come in.
Wednesday wraps up the draft, with Rounds 31 through 50. That day's draft starts at 11 a.m. CST and the picks will again be aired on MLB.com. TCB should have some preliminary draft grades for the first two days of the draft by then, along with more analysis on the future Astros minor leaguers.
