Astros Minor League Recap

New, 18 comments

The Oklahoma City at Nashville series is officially over and the series ended with a tie 2-2.  It was a great game last night that I really enjoyed with my wife.  Astros County was unable to attend due to a stomach bug, but I still had a good time.  A lot of things were clicking for the Red Hawks in different aspects of the game which led to the win.  Koby Clemens received a lot of heckling but the kid was strong and performed very well.  He held his head high no matter what the fans threw at him.

I know a lot of ya'll are worried about the big league's bullpen but after watching three of our AAA team's games, I'm more comfortable with the depth in that department.  Fernando Rodgriguez is pitching more than an inning per outing and is shutting offenses down.  Jose Valdez is coming in during the late innings and blowing fastballs by hitters and making them look silly.  He hit 95 several times last night.  I like the minor league depth, even though its really only two pitchers at this point who stand out.

As for the rest of the minor leagues, it seemed almost everybody was clicking except for a few guys in Lancaster.
